Ear Care Products
 Ear
Posting FoamLight-weight, round,
flexible, closed cell polyethylene foam. Our foam is extremely
economical, safe, effective, easy to use, and is available in a
variety of diameters to accommodate all ear sizes. The foam is
packaged in convenient "Kits" that can be resold. Ear Posting Foam
does not rub raw spots or jab, does not require a chin strap,
maintains its supportive property when damp, and requires no
preparation. Because it is so soft and light-weight, it is more
comfortable for the pup than conventional posting materials. |

Posting Tape
S.F Products carries two of the most common tapes utilized for taping
cropped ears. Both Elastikon and Zonas are manufactured by Johnson and
Johnson. Both tapes are porous and both are sold in one and two inch
widths. Zonas tape is white. Elastikon is tan and, as the name implies,
is a stretchable tape. |

 Detachol
Solvent that reduces the
stress of cropped ear aftercare by making tape removal totally painless.
While taking down a Pup's ears, use a small amount of Detachol on a
cotton ball to detach the tape from the Pup's ear. The Pup's ears will
not lose hair due to the tape removal process, and there will be no
adhesive residue left on the ear. The solvent should be rinsed from the
Pup's ears, and the ears should be allowed to dry prior to re-taping. |

about Ears" Video or DVD
Decision: Natural or Cropped Ears
This is a good video for novice breeders and pet owners. S.F. Products'
"All About Ears" is an informal video hosted by Arlene Scarbrough, a
breeder of harlequin Great Danes since 1970. The video discusses the
pros and cons of ear cropping, how to locate a veterinarian to crop your
pup; how to tape cropped ears; corrective taping procedures; surgical
procedures to correct problem cropped ears; and the pros and cons of
natural ears. The video cautions against incorrect use of tape;
unattended cropped ears and the resulting potential for ear infection;
"RISKS" of cropping; and emphasizes the importance of dedication should
you decide to crop. "All About Ears" shows numerous cropped Danes, as
well as Danes whose owner mis-taped the ears. The taping technique shown
utilizes S.F. Products' Ear Posting Foam. |
